Caamp, Mumford, and Lumineer came to us on October 5, 2024, from Indiana through no fault of their own. These three were part of an intake that marked a milestone: our 2,000th cat saved from euthanasia. For this meaningful milestone, we wanted to dedicate it to a cat who truly needed us—those most likely to face euthanasia when shelters reached capacity. We thought there’d be no better cat than this trio of adults who had landed at a shelter after living together in a home.
During their two-week quarantine at the shelter, they shared a kennel while battling upper respiratory infections. They would cuddle together and swoon whenever someone came to say hello. Despite their challenges, they remained trusting of humans, melting into the arms of everyone they met.
Once they moved to our adoptable rooms, their unique personalities blossomed. Lumineer enjoyed lounging on a high shelf, Mumford became the ruler of the room, and Caamp spent his days watching out the door with wide eyes. We noticed they weren't actually bonded to each other when given more space, which led us to decide they could be adopted separately.
Though they weren't bonded, the mere fact that three adult cats arrived together at a municipal shelter—especially while sick—often leads to euthanasia. Initially, we thought we'd need to find someone willing to adopt all three adults— which is no small feat. A month after their arrival, they've all settled into their forever homes—an achievement made possible through Paw Print Club's support.
Their support allows us to take cats like them without thinking twice about resources and the time it would take to get them adopted. Every member of Paw Print Club plays a crucial role in giving cats like Caamp, Mumford, and Lumineer the second chance they deserve. Become a member today.
