Volunteers are integral to our mission and daily impact. We have a small team of staff and without our volunteers, we wouldn't be able to serve our cats and our community at the level we strive for.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be:

18+ years of age
-
Able to bend, squat, lift 40+ lbs, and stand for long periods of time

Able to work independently with people and felines

Submit Application
Create an account and complete the volunteer application. This helps us learn more about you and understand your interests.

Attend Orientation
All volunteers begin with an onsite orientation, which includes a 15-minute tour and a 30-minute online training.

Attend Your First Shift
You’ll be paired with a volunteer mentor who will walk you through the shift and answer questions.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
CAT CARE CREW
Cat Care Crew is our most crucial volunteer program and the heart of our daily operations. These volunteers provide hands-on care for the cats who live at our Adoption Center, ensuring they are healthy, comfortable, and ready for their forever families. There are two shifts per day, and we encourage volunteers to choose a regular, standing shift. Having dependable teammates helps build trust among volunteers and provides consistency for our cats.
Cat Care Crew responsibilities include:

Cleaning free-roaming cat rooms and kennels
-
Feeding, socializing, and caring for cats
-
Supporting daily shelter operations through dishes, laundry, and general upkeep
-
Opportunities for assisting with basic handling such as weighing and nail trimming


VISITOR VALET
-
Welcome and assist guests during Cuddle Cat hours
-
Keep room binders up to date with resident cats
-
Answer general questions about Paws and Claws

ADMIN AVIATOR
-
Assisting with administrative tasks, including scanning documents and data entry
-
Write adoption bios for cats

BIRTHDAY BARON
-
Help create a fun and safe experience by supervising children during cat interactions
-
Assist with crafts and activities
-
Support with party setup and cleanup
ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

ADOPTION SCREENER
-
Contact applicants who submit adoption forms to conduct screening conversations

Answer general questions about the adoption process and Paws and Claws

AUCTION COMMITTEE

Coming up with a list of diverse auction offerings

Reaching out to businesses, organizations and corporations to secure items
