Alder
Alder is a sweet and very intelligent young adult cat. He has quite a bit of energy and can creatively have fun with almost anything, though he prefers to play with his humans rather than alone. He also enjoys looking out the window and investigating things around the house. He’s not just a ball of energy though. He likes to cuddle and when picked up, he will lick his person’s face and nudge his head into theirs. He also often shows his curiosity by looking up at his people and tilting his head - almost like a puppy!

Valerie
Valerie is a wonderful feline companion. When her foster family gets home, she meets them at the door. When they’re watching TV, or working, or reading, she often lays on the rug in the room, sometimes even showing them her seal impression with her hands and feet held up like flippers. She enjoys sitting on the back of the sofa during TV time, but she’s still getting comfortable with sitting on their laps.
She also loves to sit on the window ledge and watch the world, wondering if there are other cats like her out there. And at night, when the people are asleep, she’ll sometimes stretch out at the foot of the bed.
Valerie hopes that somewhere out there is someone who’s willing to give her the love and patience she deserves. Someone who appreciates her seal impression. Someone who wants to make sure she doesn't eat too fast, but also wants to share a little bit of their cheese, milk, or peanut butter with her. It was only after an exam at the shelter showed Mulan's true identity that we realized the mistake, creating a coincidental parallel to the movie character he's named after! In foster, Mulan has shown his great attachment to his younger brother, McCall. Mulan is sweet and unflappable, able to handle McCall's rambunctious nature with ease. It's clear that Mulan is attached to people, even though he isn't much for personal attention or pets. He and McCall will curl up in the bed next to you at night, and when you leave the room, Mulan settles down in the exact spot you were just sitting. We’re Cayenne and Horseradish, and we got our names because we were initially two very spicy kittens! We wouldn’t even allow our foster parents to touch us. We hissed, hid, and ran away.
But our foster family saw our potential, and didn’t give up. They were willing to go slow with us and build trust over time, and give us the patience we needed to realize we didn’t have to be so afraid. Slowly but surely we began to come out of our hiding places to explore and play. We now love spending time with our foster family, and they can’t believe how much we’ve changed from the kittens we were when we first arrived.
We hope that our forever home is one where we could feel safe and loved. We may need a little more time to warm up to you than some kittens, but we promise we’re worth it!
