EVERY STORY DESERVES
TO BE TOLD

A story is a powerful thing. It gives shape to our experiences and allows us to share our lives with one another. Cats, just like people, have stories of their own to tell. We are on a mission to continue to bring those stories together: to continue to build community and save lives.

Four years ago, Paws and Claws was founded to save the most vulnerable felines. Amidst the chaos and uncertainty of 2020, we brought people together to form an organization to save lives. Since then, we’ve saved the lives of over 2,000 cats and impacted the lives of countless people. Our story has always been about so much more than felines. It’s been about the power of community, the power of saving a life, together.

CONSIDER THESE FACTS:

Cats are euthanized at 2x the rate

of dogs.

330,000

cats were euthanized in the U.S. in 2023.

Black and tabby cats are commonly overlooked.

Cats are euthanized to save time, space, and resources.

Now, we are counting on our community to continue to stand with us. To help us continue to write our story. One that is so much bigger than us.

Together, we can rewrite their stories. Give today!

A gift of $2,500 delivers critical emergency care and hospitalization for a cat who would otherwise be overlooked and euthanized.

THIS IS THE STORY OF
ONE CAT WHO IMPACTED COUNTLESS LIVES...

Boxelder was found in a metal scrap yard surrounded by other cats. Boxy was the sole survivor. We took Boxelder under our wing and made the promise we make to every cat we save… “you’re safe now and will receive all the care you need.”

Over the next few months it would quickly become clear Boxelder had survived some sort of terrible trauma. He had a broken pelvis, a broken femur, and his colon and intestines were wrapped around his lungs. Through multiple major surgeries and time in the ICU we fought to save Boxelder’s life. Along the way Boxelder won over the hearts of our volunteers and staff.

Like Boxelder, every cat we’ve saved has a story of their own. Every cat deserves the chance to have a family, someone to care enough about them to give them that second chance, and to see their story continue.

Boxelder, adopted 11/13/24, after 91 days in our care.

MULTIPLY YOUR IMPACT. BE A CATALYST.

WHY 829?

We are on a mission to save 829 lives by December 31, 2024

It’s so much more than a number. This year marks our first full year at 829 Chicago Avenue. This is where, for the first time, we were able to provide:

  • A safe place for cats needing treatment, care and recovery

  • A loving, dependable place for cats awaiting adoption

  • In-house medical care for routine procedures and life-altering surgeries

  • Meet-and-greets for individuals and families, shared experiences, and small events

  • Offices for our growing team

  • A community hub for our fosters, volunteers and supporters to gather

  • A HOME.

829 is so much more than an address. 829 is the home where our life-saving potential multiplied. Now, we’re endeavoring to save 40% more lives by the end of this year.

Will you help us reach 829?

CONSIDER THE IMPACT YOU CAN MAKE

It’s more than 829 felines. It’s a ripple effect of lives saved and lives impacted. Cats and people. It’s a cascade of second chances, joy and hope. We need your help to make sure that those 829 stories are told. We can’t do this without you.

The impact you make today shapes the work we accomplish tomorrow. We will come together as a community, united to raise critical funds for our beloved organization, the cats we save and the people whose lives we impact. Every story matters and every story deserves to be told.

It’s never too late to make an impact. Every gift matters. Every dollar counts.
