Triple the Love: Captain, Pilot & Sailor Stay Together

Captain, Pilot, and Sailor stole hearts from the very beginning. They arrived at our rescue from Rockford, Illinois, and it didn’t take long to realize just how inseparable they were. 

Whether in foster care or at the Adoption Center, the trio was always side by side—curled up in a cozy pile. They became known for squeezing together on a single shelf in Room 1 (a shelf clearly meant for just one cat, but they didn’t seem to mind).

Finding a home for a bonded pair can be tricky. Finding a home for a bonded trio of shy adult cats? Almost unheard of.

But we never gave up hope—and we never had to split them up. The perfect adopter came along and saw them for what they were: soulmates. Today, the boys—now known as Burls, AJ, and Paulie—are thriving in their new home.

Here’s what their new family shared with us just three weeks after adoption:

“The trio is still very much bonded, and they do everything together: sleep, eat, check on what’s happening in the kitchen (treats? wet food? was that a can opening???) and they are constantly PLAYING!

Three is a lot, but we couldn’t be happier with them and it seems they feel good too. They seem to (mostly) sleep through the night, and in the morning they leap on our bed and positively vibrate with big purrs and just want to be petted, petted, and petted some more. It fills our hearts up with joy!”
