A year after they were adopted, Chadburger and Broccoli made their way back to Paws and Claws Cat Rescue. They were adopted in July 2023, and were surrendered to an animal control facility in Chicago a year later.
The facility gave us a call to let us know, and we happily went down to pick them up. We always tell our adopters that we’re dedicated to our cats for life, so no matter how long they’ve been out of our care, we’ll always take them back. These two came to us as neonatal kittens with their mama, Summer, so they were much bigger now.
Chad and Broccoli were a bit rattled from all of the transitions at first, but with time, they began to trust their new environment and the people around them. They have provided each other comfort throughout this adjustment, and have opened up. Each day, we see them blossom, from their wide-eyed excitement from wand toys to their purrs when being pet.
It’s always heartbreaking to see our cats confused during a transition, but we are committed to providing them with a loving and stable environment until they find a new home.
