MEET VALERIE

I'm Valerie, and I'm looking for a roommate. I first came to Paws and Claws in April of 2025, and I've been looking for my forever home since then. I'm 10 years old and prefer a calm home where I can be queen of the castle. I will never say no to a little milk, cheese, or peanut butter, if you're offering.
I enjoy hanging out on the back of the couch near you, or laying on the rug nearby, but cuddling has never really been my thing. I do love some pets and scratches to my head, though! In exchange for taking care of me, I'll keep you safe by monitoring the outside world through the windows and letting you know when any birds or squirrels pass by -- window-sitting is one of my talents! I also do a great impression of a seal, where I lay on my back and put my feet up I the air like flippers. I think you'll really love it! If you have some extra space in your house and heart, and are looking to give an older gal a place to chill, I think we'll get along great.
She would do best in an adults-only household.

"What do I love about Valerie? Well, aside from her cute seal impression, I love that despite being an obvious introvert, she does get comfort from having her person around. She’s not looking for cuddles but frequently meets me at the door when I’ve been gone, meows at me, and appreciates some head scratches. I also love how different she is than when she came to live with me a long time ago.
She arrived as a scared, aggressive cat and though she’ll always need a person who’s calm and respects her body language when she’s saying she’s getting overstimulated, she now wants to be on the back of the couch when you’re watching TV or laying in bed when you’re reading, and on the mornings I wake up to find her sleeping right next to me, it warms my heart."
