I have loved every single one of my foster kittens, but little Sharknado stole my whole heart! This little boy was about to be euthanized when Ashlynn came across him at a partner shelter. He was a bit of a mess - he had a botfly wound that was still healing, a nasty upper respiratory infection, worms, and gunk in his eyes. But from the first moment he arrived at my home he was so sweet, snuggly and trusting. I fell in love with him right away.
Little Sharknado had gone through so much in his short life but still trusted us completely to care for him. He needed a lot of medication, which most kittens hate, but baby Sharknado would see me coming with a syringe, sit down, and open his mouth for his medicine. His little nose was all blocked up so he would open his mouth to purr, which was the most charming, adorable thing I've ever seen. His illness caused him to lose his voice, probably permanently, so he would often come up to us, open his mouth, and look at us expectantly even though no sound had come out! He spent hours cuddled up in our laps or lounging next to us on his cushion. He was even incredibly polite with our grouchy older cat - he resisted the urge to play with his big brother's tail!
Even though we only had Sharknado for a short time, I feel incredibly lucky that I got to spend time with him and to give him the space and time he needed to heal and gain confidence. I like to imagine him in his new forever home, purring and happy. I love you, little man!
Love,
Laura C.
